Down that endless winding road-
- right back to the start
Name / PB: Miles Lago / Milo Ventimiglia
Occupation: FBI Special Agent with the JTF
Information: Miles grew up as the second of three children in Washington DC. Both his parents were government employees and it seemed natural to follow into their footsteps. A couple too many schoolyard brawls and confrontations with teachers which were resolved in a reasonable manner aside, there weren't many notable events in his childhood. After high school, he went to college, graduated with a Master's degree in computer sciences and worked for an IT company before he joined the FBI in 2003.
After a two-year-stint at the Cyber Division he transferred to the CID and moved to this city in 2007. One year later, he was married to a bright, young prosecutor at the DA's office. They bought an apartment, a second car, an aquarium - he hated cats and she hated dogs. She ranted about slick, evil lawyers and how the city was drowning in filth and dirt while he cooked dinner and told her to take it easy. In late 2009, around the time he was assigned to the JTF, they began to refurbish that room they called office but neither of them actually used - pastel colours on the walls, animal shaped patterns on the curtains, soft toys everywhere.
While Miles gained a rather disturbing insight into the workings of crime in this city, she got excited over a case she wouldn't tell him anything about. Two months into 2010, she disappeared. Her abandoned car was found on a parking lot. Blood on the wheel and upholstery, no traces of her whereabouts. At least, that was what the police report said and nothing in it hinted at it being anything else but. Still, in this town and in their line of work, coincidences like that were not that easy to accept. Nobody could blame him for not believing what a piece of paper written by people who for all he knew might have more than just one employer told him, could they?
Agent Lago's relationship with the PD colleagues at the JTF is a little strained. He does his best to keep it professional, but since his temper has reverted to that of his schoolyard days and considering that the temper of some of the so-called colleagues aren't that much better, some clashes seem inevitable. So far, his suspicions and speculations regarding the disappearance of his wife remain unproven. She might be dead for all he knows, but he keeps catching glimpses of her on the streets from the corner of his eye. It must be a trick of the light or of his mind, because every time he turns his head she's gone. Must be the stress. He's been working so much lately... It's definitely the stress and lack of sleep.
Information (abridged): - Joined FBI in 2003; worked in Cyber Division until 2005; transferred to CID and moved to this city in 2007. Assigned to JTF in late 2009.
- Married Julia Davidson, prosecutor with the DA's office, in 2008, who disappeared in Feb 2010 - presumed dead. Has his own theories regarding her mysterious disappearance and suspects PD involvement; so far, however, his suspicions are nothing more than just that.
- Miles doesn't really trust the PD members of the JTF but makes an effort to leave his personal feelings at home, and to be as professional as possible.
